Karpur Chand Kulish Award
KCKA is an annual award instituted by
Rajasthan Patrika to acknowledge the value
system in society that develops through
journalism. The basic aim of this award
is to foster strength giving value systems
and generate ethics of morality, enriching
and helping us to retain our basic culture
as well as develop duties & responsibilities
in public. The theme of this inaugural
award is
“Human Development”. The award
is restricted to Print Media.
The aim is to identify and honor significance
of a news story, resourcefulness and courage
in gathering information, and skill in
relating the story.
The award will carry $ 11,000 in cash,
as well as a medal and a certificate.
The effort of Selection Panel will be
to identify individual entries and reward
the teams that make them possible. There
will also be Consolation Prizes in some
major segments of journalism.
Concerned Communicator Award
The most awaited and prestigious social
advertising award, CCA 2007 has made a
fantastic arrival this year with its poster
launch by two eminent personalities, Mr.
N. R. Narayan Murthy, Founder and Mentor
INFOSYS and internationally renowned author,
Mr. Salman Rushdie.
The Inception
The advertising world is always comprehended
to have evolved ideas and refined sensibilities
incessantly. One sparking thought is enough
to revolutionize the society.
Rajasthan Patrika instituted the Concerned
Communicator Award ten years back in 1997
with the intent of recognizing and honoring
the creative geniuses in the sphere of
social communication. This year, CCA will
celebrate a decade of success from which
has emerged the most respected and coveted
awards event in India. CCA has created
its own identity because of the beautiful
concept, which makes it most special and
cherished award in advertising field.
The Concept:
CCA invites agencies, ad professionals
and free-lancers in advertising field
to make print ads on any social issue
that one feels strongly for. The ad/s
can be colored or black & white within
500 sq. cms size. The winner will be awarded
a cash prize of US $11,000. In addition,
there would be 1 UNICEF Special Mention
and 12 special mention awards. These winning
entries along with the Best 50 entries
will be published in Rajasthan Patrika,
yahoo India website and on agencyfaqs.
There is no participation fee whatsoever.

Last year, the contest drew more than
2000 entries from across the globe, e.g.
Mexico, Canada & UAE. The award ceremony
was organized at a gala event in JWT Marriott,
Mumbai.

CCA 2007 is launched this year with a
new look wherein we have chosen seven
such celebrities from different walks
of life who are working actively for a
better society.
Maneka Gandhi A politician,
more famous as social activist working
continuously to stop cruelty against animals.
Also a renowned environmentalist. She
has founded 'People for Animals' and is
a Patron to the Worldwide Fund for Nature
(WWF) and is active through numerous other
such organisations. CC Awards is a platform
for intiating change and in that way Maneka
Gandhi is the role model.
Another such powerful role model for any
Indian woman is undoubtably Kiran
Bedi, a name colossus in itself
- the first woman IPS officer in India
is a true trail blazer. She instituted
prison reforms during her term as Inspector
General of Prisons at the Tihar Jails
in Delhi. These included: detoxification
programs, improved nutrition and sanitation,
literacy and language classes taught by
prisoners. Kiran Bedi has also established
two voluntary organizations, Navjyoti.
She has been awarded numerous awards for
her achievements: President's Gallantry
Award, Asia Region Award for Drug Prevention
and Control, Ramon Magsaysay Award.
Anupam Kher, an active
social worker always seen crusading causes
and taking a stand on important issues.
He started an NGO, "Dilkhush"
for orphans and less privileged children
of society. Reader's Digest also took
note of his philanthropic contribution.
Anupam Kher is an accomplished artist
who thinks with his heart and is always
game for any social initiative. which
is quite the case with the creative people
who pause to ponder and create ads that
concern social issues.
CC Award is about raising ones voice for
a cause and who could be more apt than
Shabana to be an example. Shabana
Azmi, is widely known for her
commitment as a social activist and a
dynamic parliamentarian needs no introduction
as such. She is actively working for the
betterment of slum dwellers in Mumbai,
has always spoken fearlessly against communalism.
For her outstanding contribution for the
betterment of society she was awarded
the Padma Shri from the government of
India. She is Goodwill Ambassador for
the United Nations Population Fund.
John Abraham, The most
popular and celebrated actor, a youth
icon John Abraham is also an active social
worker. He is associated with Peta i.e.
People for Ethical treatment of Animals.
Recently John started a campaign specially
targeting youth to drive safe and wear
helmet while driving two wheelers. The
youth idolize him not just for his glamour
but also for his human concerns.
Raveena Tandon A well
admired celebrity, known exclusively for
a special corner for orphans also known
for her association with Peta. Raveena
just opened her doors to 20 orphans, who
will have a heart like that. No one could
be more appropriate ambassador for an
award that evokes you to open up your
heart.
Sabrina Lall The whole
nation stood by her when she fought for
the justice to her murdered sister, Jessica
Lall. We salute Sabrina for her unassailable
courage and determination. This is for
the first time that Sabrina Lall has come
up on a public platform as an ambasssador
in a campaign. The good concept of CCA
gave her a reason give her name in support
of Concerned Communicator Award. She is
ideal as an icon that truly represents
the fact that "if it is from the
heart your voice is heard !"
